Secured loans 'could help Brits follow their dreams'

17/12/2008
Secured loans could be the answer for Brits who are putting their lives on hold as a result of the economic downturn.

Research from Credit Expert has shown some 75 per cent of UK adults are delaying key plans for 2009 - such as moving jobs and having a baby - because they are worried about their finances.

The study also revealed 55 per cent of those questioned are feeling anxious about being able to achieve personal goals, as a result of concerns over money.

Commenting on the findings, Jim Hodgkins, managing director of Credit Expert said: "Those that are holding off on pursuing their plans because they're worried about being refused a loan or credit should check their credit report."

He explained this could help to put people's minds at rest and reassure them there is nothing stopping them from chasing their dreams.

Furthermore, homeowners may be pleasantly surprised by the rates available for secured loans.

Lenders are generally prepared to offer competitive deals because the borrower's property is used as security.
