Secured loans customers: More financially attractive?
14/02/2008Valentine's Day may be here, but a new survey has revealed that a significant number of relationships have ended due to debt problems.
According to the study, put together by Cahoot, an estimated 2.2 million UK consumers have ended relationships with their partner due to issues relating to unpaid debts, loans and financial instability.
The survey, which has been published to coincide with Valentine's Day, may force many doting partners to consider their own finances - which can often be remedied by opting for a secured loan or debt consolidation.
Matthew Timms, director of Cahoot, said: "Financial incompatibility is relatively common, with money causing over two million of us to end our last relationship."
However, the research also noted that having a healthy bank balance can make people more attractive to the opposite sex.
Recent research from debt specialists Credit Action shows the current level of personal debt in the UK to be around £1,409 billion.
