Secured loans news: Don't just 'think about money'
01/12/2008Consumers are being advised not just to think about money this Christmas but to actually consider themselves as well.
Jasmine Birtles is a financial expert and said the festive season no longer has to be solely based on what presents people buy.
Instead, the credit crunch is forcing people to stop and really think about how far their money should go, she added.
"I'm actually pleased that we are being forced to stop. We really have to think about giving ourselves rather than just money," Ms Birtles remarked.
Her comments follow recent research from Lloyds TSB, which found that 48 per cent of consumers cannot afford to be as generous as they were last year.
In addition, 77 per cent said they were more likely to take advantage of special offers and reward deals.
This could include secured loans customers, who can instead use the money they have borrowed to invest in something with a possible return, such as home improvements.
