Secured loans and tackling debt pressure

27/03/2008
Languishing in unmanageable debt is not in the interests of anyone and people need to avoid this at all costs, one expert has suggested.

According to Halifax, many UK consumers can find themselves struggling by allowing debts such as high interest credit and store cards - a problem that some people find can be alleviated with a secured loan or debt consolidation plan.

Gareth Mackie, a spokesperson for Halifax, said that people were finding it increasingly difficult to save due to the pressure of day-to-day living costs and the pressure associated with managing their outgoings.

"It's not in anyone's interest for people to get into financial difficulty so don't leave it until things are in a precarious situation," he warned.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a recent survey from YouGov revealed that 56 per cent of Brits admitted they were finding it difficult to make ends meet than a year ago.
