Access
‘Access’ refers to your ability to remove your money from the account or product where you have placed it. Your level of access depends on the financial resting place you have chosen for your money. For example, a high interest account may require you to give notice of anything from a week to 3 years before you can access your funds, whereas a standard current account allows for instant access. If you put your money in an account which needs notice before withdrawal but, for whatever reason, you did not ask, you will very likely suffer a penalty on your interest. Be certain when you go down the route of investing in a required notice product, you must be sure that you can spare the money for the allotted access period.
