Credit Agency
A credit agency is an agency that is responsible for holding your credit history details. In the UK there are two main credit agencies, Experian and Equifax. When you apply for a loan, the lender will approach a credit agency to check upon your record, and determine whether to offer you a loan based upon the records the credit agency holds. If you are curious about your credit history you yourself can apply to a credit agency to see what records they hold about you. You will usually be charged a fee to see this record. It is possible to apply to a credit agency to have details of your credit record changed as well.
