Housing Association
There are over two thousand housing associations in England and Wales and their purpose is to help people find affordable housing and rental properties. Housing associations are non-profit organisations which put any profits they make back into maintaining and financing properties. The management of these housing associations are run by volunteers of all types, from MPs to local businessmen to members of community groups.
Housing associations also help build substantial new property developments which will often be subsidised for key workers in the area.
